Summer PPSSA Trials 2025

  • If your child is in years 3-6 in 2025 and wishes to trial for a PPSSA team, please complete the permission note which has been emailed home.

P&C Christmas Family Movie Night - Elf

  • When: Thursday 5th December.
  • Where: MVPS Performing Arts Centre (PAC).
  • Tickets: $3 per person.
  • Movie: Elf starts at 6 PM (popcorn only in the PAC!)
  • Food: 5 PM - BYO picnic, pre-purchase via Flexischools or grab a tasty bite on the night (until sold out).
  • Buy tickets and order food via Flexischools.
  • Don’t miss the chance to share in Buddy’s Christmas cheer with the whole family. See you there! 🎄

Year 5 Surf Safe Program

  • Year 5 will be participating in a Surf Safe Program.
  • Where: Mona Vale Beach.
  • When: Friday 6th December.
  • Permission and payment link has been emailed home.
  • A separate Surf Life Saving permission note has been sent home with students. Please complete and return this form to your class teacher prior to the day.

Year 6 Farewell Dinner

  • When: Monday 9th December.
  • Where: Pittwater RSL.
  • Time: 6pm-9pm.

Year 6 Luna Park

  • Year 6 are headed to Luna Park to celebrate the end of Primary School.
  • When: Tuesday 10th December.
  • Where: Luna Park.
  • Permission and payment links have been emailed home.

MVPS Presentation Day

  • When: Wednesday 11th December.
  • Where: Pittwater High School.
  • Time: 8:50am - 1pm.
  • Permission notes have been emailed home.
  • All award recipients will receive an invitation via email closer to the day.

Year 6 Graduation and Picnic

The last day of primary school is fast approaching for Year 6! We would like to invite you to help celebrate this milestone with us in a graduation assembly leading to the clap out tunnel created by the rest of the school.

  • Date: Wednesday 18th December 2024
  • Time: Arrive at the Waratah Street (main gate) at 1pm for a 1:15pm start
  • Venue: Performing Arts Centre (PAC)
  • Due to space limitations, we can only have 2 family members per student attend.
  • Picnic - Earlier in the day, we will hold a grade picnic for the students. Students can bring a plate to share, please be mindful of allergies and ensure all food items are labelled.

2025 Swimming Carninval - Competitors Only

  • When: Thursday, 20th February, 2025 
  • Where: Warringah Aquatic Centre, from 8.30am - 2.00pm.  
  • Who: It will be for 2025 Years 3-6 students and Yr 2 students who are turning 8 during 2025. 
  • This year the swimming carnival will be for competitors only, due to the cost and difficulty of securing bus transport. If your child will not be competing at the carnival, they will come to school for a normal school day.
  • We are requesting parents of swimmers to arrange for their children to be transported to and from Warringah Aquatic Centre. 
  • The carnival will start at 8.30am with the open 100m freestyle. 
  • Parents will need to sign their child in at the desk in the foyer upon arrival and sign their child out at the desk as they leave the pool.  
  • Race entries must be made online through School Interviews on the link below. 
  • Entries close on Friday, 6th December, 2024.  
  • Permission and payment link will then be sent to those competitors.  Payment will be for hiring of the pool and facilities.  As a sign of our appreciation, we will cover the $4.20 pool entry for parent spectators
  • Please ensure that your child is entered in events for the age that they are turning in 2025. 
  • Please enter every race that your child wishes to compete in as we cannot add students to races once the heats have been formed.

Year 3 & 5 Opportunity Class and Selective High School 2026

  • The NSW Department of Education has changed the dates to apply for a Selective High School or Opportunity Class for 2026.  Applications are now open from 7th November 2024 and close on 21st February 2025. They will not be accepting late applications.

  • Students who are in Year 3 2024 and Year 4 2025 can apply for a 2026 OC placement now.
  • Students who are in Year 5 2024 and Year 6 2025 can apply for a 2026 Selective High School placement now.

From next year, the tests for admission to an Opportunity Class or Selective High School will be completed online.

If you are intending to apply for an Opportunity Class or Selective High School for 2026, please complete the ‘intention to apply’ note and return it to your class teacher.

P&C Colour Run

  • On Thursday 28th November, all students from K-6 will have the opportunity to participate in a fun Colour Run around Waratah oval with their year group/class. Students and teachers will run around the oval and be sprayed with coloured chalk, with obstacle activities to participate in along the way. The Colour Run will conclude with a ‘colourful’ class photo at the end. 
  • Below is timetable for the day:
  • 9am-10am – Year 6
  • 10am -11am  – Year 3 and Year 5
  • 12pm-1pm - Year 1 and Year 2
  • 1:30pm–2:30pm – Kindergarten and Year 4
  • Students need to wear:

    · A white t-shirt that will become coloured from the powder
    · enclosed shoes
    · mufti shorts & hat

    Although the powder is directed at the students’ t-shirts, please note when selecting clothing for students to wear that it will likely blow onto their shorts, shoes, hat and socks and may not wash out.

In order for this event to run, the P&C are looking for energetic, enthusiastic volunteers to join them for a day full of fun, laughter, and colour!.

Year 6 Beach Safety Program

  • Year 6 will participate in a whole day of lessons dedicated to water and beach safety.
  • Monday 2nd December.
  • 9am - 2:30pm @ Mona Vale Beach.

Band Information Evening

  • When: Thursday 7th November.
  • Where: School Hall.
  • Time: 5:30pm-7pm.
  • Any student in Years 3-6 2025 is welcome.

  • Join us for an evening showcasing our spectacular creative arts ensembles.

Grandparents & Grandfriends Day

  • Thursday 24th October, 10:15am-11:40am.
  • 10:15am - Open classrooms and Book Fair.
  • 11:00am-11:40am picnic recess in the playground. 
  • BYO recess or buy treats from the cake stall under the 3-6 COLA - cash only.
  • Don't forget to stop by the Library Book Fair if you wish to donate a book.
