Grandparents & Grandfriends Day

  • Thursday 24th October, 10:15am-11:40am.
  • 10:15am - Open classrooms and Book Fair.
  • 11:00am-11:40am picnic recess in the playground. 
  • BYO recess or buy treats from the cake stall under the 3-6 COLA - cash only.
  • Don't forget to stop by the Library Book Fair if you wish to donate a book.

Year 6 2024 Graduation Bear & Ball

  • Year 6 Graduation Signature Bear, Rugby Ball or Soccer Ball mementos are available for purchase.
  • Each item is $25 and includes a permanent marker.
  • Order through Flexischools and close 4pm Tuesday 24th September.
  • The bears and balls will be distributed to the children in time for signing at the end of the year.

K-2 Athletics Carnival and Cross Country

Year 3 - Gibberagong

  • Students will explore three different forest types and use a range of geographical tools to investigate the animals, plants and the relationship between them.
  • Monday 9th September.
  • Students can wear their sport uniform.

Kindergarten - Taronga Zoo

  • Kindergarten will attend the Taronga Zoo to participate in the Backyard to Bush Tour.

Book Week Parade

  • Parents and carers are invited to join us watching your child parade in their Book Week costumes.
  • When: Tuesday 27th August
  • Where: Waratah Oval

Book Week

  • 'Book Week In Schools Live' will be visiting MVPS presenting 'Maybe a Miracle' during Book week exploring the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Children's Book Week themes, promoting literature and the joy of reading in an interactive, fun and engaging way.

Education Week

This year, Public Education Week is being celebrated from August 5th - August 9th 2024. As part of this week, Mona Vale Public School would like to invite you all to our school celebrations on Thursday August 8th 2024.

The events being held on this day include:

  • 12pm - Whole School Assembly where we will be showcasing our Concert Band, String Ensemble and both Junior and Senior Choir.
  • 12:45pm-1:30pm will be a picnic lunch with your children. During this time you will be able to wander through our school hall for a "walk back in time" that has been organised by our school historian, Mrs Bev Lewis. Our dance groups will be performing in the PAC and our sports staff will be on the school tennis courts hosting some games.
  • Please see the Flexischools app to order your special treat lunch if desired.
  • 1:30pm-2:45pm will be open classrooms, where you will be able to engage and enjoy some activities with your children.

Mona Vale Public School has produced some amazing 'good humans' in the past, and we continue on this legacy, so please come and join us and celebrate with our current 'champions in education' - your children!

K-2 Athletics Carnival and Cross Country

  • Tuesday 3rd September @ Pittwater High School.
  • Students can wear a shirt the same colour as their sport house.
  • Students are to bring their recess, lunch and water bottle in their library bag or small tote bag.
  • The permission link has been email home and must be granted before your child can participate.

Year 1 - Kimbriki Eco Centre

  • Tuesday 13th August (classes: 1 Blue, 1 Orange & 1 Yellow).
  • Friday 16th August (classes: 1 Purple & 1 Lime).
  • Permission has been emailed home.

Year 2 - Swim Scheme

  • Monday - Friday each day for weeks 3 & 4.
  • Narrabeen Academy of Sport.
  • Students can wear their sport uniform with their swimmers underneath.
  • Please bring swimming cap, goggles and towel, dry underwear and a plastic bag for wet items.
  • Please ensure ALL items are clearly labelled and in a small carry bag.
  • Permission and payment links have been emailed home.

Year 5 DanceSport Performance Afternoon

  • Year 5 students have been working incredibly hard during DanceSport. As it is approaching the end of the program, we would like to invite you to an afternoon performance in the school Performing Arts Centre (PAC).
  • Who: Year 5 students, parents, grandparents and carers
  • Where: School Performing Arts Centre (PAC)
  • Date: Tuesday 20th August 2024
  • Time: 1:45pm-2:40pm

Year 5 - Berry Sport and Recreation Camp

  • Monday 9th - Wednesday 11th September.
  • Permission and payment links have been emailed home. 
  • Students are required to be at school at 7am sharp for 7:30am departure.
  • The cost of the camp is $425.  
  • The deposit of $225 is due Monday 29th July (Week 1, Term 3) to secure your child's place.
  • The balance of $200 is due Friday 30th August (Week 6, Term 3).
  • A full list of activities and what to bring will be sent home next term.
  • In addition to the permission note, please complete the registration form for Berry Sport and Rec.

Summer PPSSA

  • Summer PPSSA will resume in Week 9 Term 3 and continue into Term 4. Training will begin that week too, please refer to the schedule so you know when/where each sport is training.

3-6 Athletics Carnival 

  • Monday August 5th.
  • Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen.
  • If your child wishes to enter the 800m and/or 1500m parents are responsible to transport them to the track at 8:15am for an 8:30am start. All other students will travel by bus to the carnival.
  • Parents wishing to take their child home from the venue are asked to take the student, to the table marked 'Class Lists', to have their names marked off their respective class roll. If you wish for your child to be taken home by another parent you will need to send in written permission with your child.
  • Any Year 2 students who are turning 8 this year may choose to participate in the Junior (8, 9 and 10yr) races and field events. We understand that the Year 2 swim scheme is on the same day. If your child wishes to compete in the athletics carnival, please email the school with your child's name and class for the permission link to be emailed home. The office will contact you regarding further details around logistics for the day.
  • Permission and payment must be complete before students are allowed to attend.
