Why families choose us

A strong start

At Mona Vale Public School, we offer excellent transition programs to help students settle in confidently and start their learning journey with success. These programs provide support as children move into new year levels or join our school, ensuring they feel comfortable, prepared, and ready to thrive.

Working together with families; early learning providers; external providers; and other schools, we make every transition a positive experience for everyone.

We help every child feel safe, included and confident from their very first day, whether they are enrolling in kindergarten, our support unit, the opportunity class or in our whole school program.

Support for every family

At Mona Vale Public School, we work closely with families to support every student’s learning and wellbeing. We believe that strong partnerships between home and school help children feel confident and motivated.

By staying connected and communicating regularly, we ensure each child has the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

Our teachers and learning and wellbeing support teams work with our families. We co-design plans that help students learn in the way that works best for them.

High quality education

At Mona Vale Public School, we use clear and focused teaching methods to help every student understand and succeed. Our teachers set high expectations for learning and behaviour, encouraging students to do their very best every day. This approach ensures all children receive a high-quality education that builds strong foundations for their future learning and growth.

We offer our students a wide range of subjects and opportunities. This empowers them to learn, develop skills, and discover their passions.

Strong ties to community

Located in the town centre of Mona Vale, our school is easy to access by public transport, cycling, walking or driving. This makes every day at school more convenient for our families.

Our school opened on this site in 1912 and has been proudly serving the Mona Vale community for over 100 years. We have a school historian who has carefully curated an archive of the school's history, which actually started well before the school opened here at Mona Vale. Come and have a look at our history walk and learn how you can join the Mona Vale PS family.

“From the welcoming community to the dedicated teachers, Mona Vale Public School has been a wonderful place for our child to grow in confidence, friendships and learning. We feel truly supported as a family" — a parent of Mona Vale Public School.
